The Weston A. Price Foundation (WAPF) NW Cook County Chapter was founded by Susan Wanga in 2009 following the Wise Traditions conference which was held that fall in Schaumberg, IL. Some of the producers were making their products available downtown Chicago, but wanted to establish a suburban connection. Susan linked the farmers in the area with the consumers in the Northwest suburbs establishing this chapter in the process. We shall be forever grateful for her initiation in opening the connections for area consumers to access such a variety of traditional foods. Susan still actively investigates farms and their practices and keeps us abreast of new opportunities.
Renee Renz became the chapter leader in 2011 and desired to establish a community through chapter meetings. Upcoming events are listed in the Yahoo and Meetup Groups. Mark your calendar for the CSA Expo in March.
