Firefly Farm Firefly is a small diverse farm located on the S. Toe River near Celo, NC. We use organic and sustainable methods to grow our seasonal mix of vegetables. We sell to local restaurants, groceries as well as at producer-only farmers’ markets. We also have a young heirloom fruit tree orchard and are raising 100% grassfed Devon beef. Ostara Farm offers full and working memberships. A share basket will meet the needs of an average veggie eating family of 4. The cost of the shares for the 2011 season are either working ($520) or non-working ($780) and eggs are sold separately by one of the two following options: 1) Monthly eggs shares, paid ahead of time for the upcoming month at $5/wk times the number of weeks in the month. Egg shares are only available to CSA members. Eggs shares will get one dozen eggs per week when they pick up their food baskets. 2)After meeting our egg share commitments, we will sell excess eggs at $6/dozen when available. Excess eggs will be available for anyone to purchase (not just members). Working shares require the equivalent of 1 hour/week of work for the duration of the harvest season, which will be between 20-24 weeks long, depending upon the date we can start harvesting and when we stop. Wildwood Herbal is a family farm that has been serving WNC with organically grown products for 21 years. We kick off the early spring with 3.5″ pots of herb & vegetable starts to get your garden growing. For the late spring/summer we co/op with other local farmers to offer a market style CSA to the North Buncombe & Weaverville area. In 2012 we received an Ag Option grant to start a Aquaponics project. Aquaponics is growing fish and using their waste to fertilize hydroponically grown plants. Our goal is to offer fresh Talapia in the fall. We have expanded our operation and now offer greens year round. We are excited to offer a growing variety of products.
