Blackberry Meadows Farm is a Certified Organic fruit and vegetable CSA and market farm which also produces pastured non-GMO pork, beef, and poultry. They serve their neighbors in the Alle-Kiski Valley with fresh meat and vegetables from their barn store and serve the Pittsburgh Region with markets, Garden Shares, and volunteer food systems leadership.

Jeremy and Ellen Swartzfager run a sustainably-designed farm raising premium meats and produce for local restaurants and families. All of their animals are raised on pasture with plenty of sunshine and fresh grass to graze, eat, or root through each day. They use draft animal traction power, practice rotational multi-species grazing, and employ time tested crop rotations to provide the most nutritionally rich meat and veggies.

Green Circle Delivers sources naturally raised meats, milk products, eggs, and produce from farms in the Pittsburgh area.  These farms never use any hormones, antibiotics, drugs, herbicides, pesticides GMOs, or soy. Deliveries are made to to drop sites around the Pittsburgh area – Cranberry, Spring Hill, West View, Carnegie, Squirrel Hill, Point Breeze, and Friendship (more can be arranged).

Heritage Farm provides 100% grass-fed Scottish Highland beef, pastured pork, and pastured chickens and turkey.

While primarily dairy, Lutz Farm has branched out to include beef, chickens, and eggs. They are raised on fresh grass with no growth hormones or antibiotics. All products are sold at the farm or at the Harmony Farmers Market. They note, “We are not certified organic, meanwhile we our farming practices are much the same as organic farms.”

Mervin Esh of Meadow Ridge Farm provides grass-fed and pastured meats including beef, lamb, goat, and poultry. Their products are free of soy, hormones, antibiotics and genetically-modified organisms (GMOs). Meadowridge Farm also provides value-added products like cheese and fermented foods.

Shelly Oswald of Old Time Farm raises old, classic, slow-growing heritage breeds in need of conservation (American Milking Devon Cattle, Partridge Chantecler Chickens, and Standard Bronze Turkeys). All of their breeds are on the Slow Foods Ark of Taste and the Livestock Conservancy conservation need list and they breed for production as well as breed standard.
Their poultry and cattle are bred, born/hatched, and raised on-farm. Their cattle are 100% grass-fed and finished and their poultry are raised on pasture and supplemented with a nutrient dense, custom, breeder ration that is rolled and mixed on farm (sourcing as many transitional organic grains as they can).
Stoneboro, PA

Pleasant Valley Farm provides organic produce and herbs, grass-fed beef, pork, chicken, lamb, turkey, home-canned products, and raw milk cheese. Son Shine Farm’s products are available at the Phipps farmers’ market from May through November and are delivered by Green Circle Delivers in the winter.
