The Weston A. Price Foundation is a non-profit, tax-exempt charity founded in 1999 by Sally Fallon and Mary Enig to disseminate the research of nutrition pioneer Dr. Weston A. Price, whose studies of isolated non-industrialized peoples established the parameters of human health and determined the optimum characteristics of human diet.
Dr. Price’s research demonstrated that humans achieve optimum physical form and health generationaly only when they consume nutrient-dense whole foods and the vital fat-soluble activators found in exclusively in animal fats.
The foundation is dedicated to restoring nutrient-dense foods to the human diet through education, research, and activism. The foundation supports a number of movements that contribute to this objective including accurate nutrition education, organic and biodynamic farming practices, pasture-feeding of livestock, community-supported farms, honest and informative labeling, prepared parenting, and nurturing therapies.
The San Francisco Chapter of the Weston A. Foundation came into being in 2004. The chapter’s affairs are administered by a volunteer steering committee. Meetings are held once every season and are open to all chapter members.
