Action Alert! Dietary Guidelines Are Wrong!

4 March 2012 by nourishment

Yes, we need to be aware of these trends, and get organized to send this message to legislators:

The Dietary Guidelines are wrong – they will lead to greater health problems.
If you want to control health care costs, you can’t be pushing people and the food industry in the wrong direction.
A low fat diet is not a healthier diet!
Saturated fat and cholesterol are good for us, not margarine and vegetable oils and lots of sugar.
Restricting salt is not helpful. What’s needed is less refined industrially processed foods

Or other short simple messages. If they want details they can read the WAPF presentation, which has all the details. (You know they won’t read it!). If they get enough messages like this, esp. from health professionals, maybe they will stop and listen! People are beginning to catch on that low fat promotes obesity and diabetes, but they need support to counteract the prevailing paradigm.

If they want to regulate something, this makes more sense – regulating sugar – an OnPoint feature I heard the other day. Dr. Lustig is coming out swinging! But look how difficult!
