We offer a limited number of herd shares for our goats. We are thrilled to have recently been able to find a fairly local source for a Non-GMO goat ration. They are also fed alfalfa hay and pasture as the season permits. We focus on keeping our animals healthy thru proper vitamin and mineral supplementation to minimize the need for treating sickness. We try to use natural methods as much as possible, but if the animal is not responding then we will use an antibiotic if needed. We use only the most necessary vaccinations and only worm with chemical wormers if necessary. We strictly follow milk withdraw guidelines for any wormers or antibiotics used.
Herd shares are $10 to buy a share, this is a one time fee. There is then a monthly husbandry fee of $25. Each share gets 1 gallon of raw goat milk per week. The herd share owner must provide their own containers, and we highly recommend glass. If somebody needs a source for glass containers we know of a source for glass gallon jars that are very reasonably priced. Jonell jonell@s-jfarms.com
We are a family owned, certified organic dairy farm just outside Hicksville, OH. We have just implemented a new herd share program. Shares are $65 per share which entitles you to 1 gallon of milk per week. The fee for maintaining your interest in the herd is $26 per share per month. We will bottle milk in disposable plastic milk jugs and we will have scheduled pick up times at our farm. For those traveling a significant distance to collect their milk, we would like to arrange drop off locations once there is enough interest. We are a Grade A dairy, inspected by the state of Ohio twice per year so our sanitation standards are very high. The quality of our milk is supported by the labs performed every two days. Please send a friend request to our Facebook page, Katieland Dairy, to keep up with news from our farm. 847-636-6026
