Help Protect the Freedom to Travel

October 8, 2021 by midlandtx Leave a Comment

Help Protect The Freedom To Travel

Last week Senator Diane Feinstein introduced a bill titled “The U.S. Air Travel Public Safety Act,” which would negatively impact millions of Americans who travel on domestic flights.

S. 2888 would require that all passengers provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, unless they can either produce proof of a negative test within the previous 3 days or provide proof of recovery from a SARS-CoV-2 infection within the past 90 days.

The bill states that testing will be governed by the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Human Health Services will develop “vaccination standards.”

Nowhere in the bill does it say that one dose of Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine or two doses of Moderna or Pfizer’s vaccines will be sufficient. A never-ending stream of booster shots could be required if Human Health Services so chooses.

Talking points, which explain more about the problems with vaccine mandates, are below the Take Action section.

TAKE ACTION

Contact your U.S. Senators and urge them to OPPOSE S.2888.

You can find who represents you at: https://www.senate.gov/

Calls are more effective than emails, and only take a few minutes.

Sample script:

“Hi, my name is ____ and I am a constituent. I am calling to ask Senator (or Representative) ______ to oppose S. 2888, which would put heavy restrictions on passengers for domestic air travel.

The bill seeks to coerce people to get vaccinated against COVID-19 by making it difficult to travel without the shots – even though the vaccines are causing numerous serious side effects.

To date, COVID vaccines have cause over 550,000 adverse reactions and over 6,000 deaths in the U.S. These vaccines have reportedly caused more injury and death than all other vaccines combined.

Even though the bill allows for testing in lieu of vaccination, that option can be extremely inconvenient. Testing takes time, costs money, and can result in false positives that would unnecessarily block people’s travel. It is one thing to require testing when someone is planning a long international flight; it is a very different thing to require such testing for every short domestic flight.

Vaccine mandates are contrary to the concept of informed consent for medical procedures.

I urge _______ to oppose S. 2888 and to allow people to continue traveling without significant barriers intended to undermine their freedom to choose whether or not to be injected with the COVID shot.”

Be sure to explain why this issue is important to you. You may wish to use a couple of the talking points below. Don’t copy all of them – just use them as ideas to help structure your own message.

TALKING POINTS for calls and emails:

1)    Share why this is personal to you. Would your job be put at risk if you had to submit to regular testing for air travel? Are you simply against government mandates that affect your bodily autonomy?

2)    One of the most basic human rights is that of bodily autonomy, as recognized by the Nuremburg Code. Ethical medicine requires prior, completely voluntary and fully informed consent.

3)    All of these vaccine mandates and testing requirements are a slippery slope. Who’s to say what it means to be fully vaccinated? Will one booster shot suffice? For how long? Tests can be difficult to obtain in a short time frame. What if someone has to travel without notice or has a short turn around time in their itinerary? What if they get a false positive?

4)    Vaccine package inserts warn of the risk of brain damage, life-threatening allergy, and death and no one knows in advance whom a vaccine will harm. Each of us may respond differently as we have different medical histories, genes, epigenetics, and microbiomes.

5)    COVID-19 vaccine manufacturers and providers are shielded from liability through the Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness Act, or PREP Act. The only option for compensating people injured by COVID-19 vaccines is the Countermeasures Injury Compensation program (CICP). Only eight percent of all petitioners since 2010 have been awarded compensation through the CICP. No legal or medial expert fees are covered, no pain and suffering is awarded, lost wages are capped at $50,000, and there is no judicial appeal. In other words, the victims will be severely undercompensated while the pharmaceutical companies get rich.

6)    COVID-19 vaccines carry the risk of injury and death for some so there has to be informed consent and the right to refuse the vaccine without penalty. As of September 17th, there had already been 559,462 COVID-19 vaccine adverse events and 6,756 COVID-19 vaccine deaths in the U.S. reported to the Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System. https://wonder.cdc.gov/vaers.html

MORE INFORMATION

The bill also adds a vague section that would require the Advisory Committee on

Immunization Practices to review data on the transmission of COVID–19 in health care settings and among health care personnel, and develop and make

recommendations for COVID–19 vaccine use.

The bill text is not yet posted, but should be soon at: https://www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/senate-bill/2888/text

Help Stop COVID Vaccine Mandates for Employees

September 28, 2021 by midlandtx Leave a Comment

Help Stop Covid Vaccine Mandates For Employees

On September 9th, President Biden mandated all U.S. companies with 100 employees or more to require COVID vaccination or weekly testing, or face federal fines of up to $14,000 per violation.

Additionally, the executive order requires all federal employees and federal contractors to get the shots. Only postal workers and members of Congress and their staff are exempt. No exceptions were made for persons who have already had COVID and therefore have natural immunity.

Within two days, twenty-eight states were already pushing back against federal vaccine mandates. The Republican National Committee has also announced they will sue the Administration for issuing an unconstitutional mandate.

It is our hope that the executive order will not stand up in court, both on constitutional and statutory grounds, as federal law prohibits the mandating of any emergency use products – and the COVID vaccines available in the U.S. have not been approved despite what the media has told the public. (The shot that was approved for regular use is not available in the U.S. at this time.)

No matter what your political affiliation is, vaccine mandates are wrong. Vaccines are a medical decision that should be left up to the individual, not mandated.

Talking points, which explain more about the problems with mandates and the vaccines, are below the Take Action section.

TAKE ACTION

Contact your U.S. Senators and Representative and encourage them to file legislation that would restore the right to choose for COVID vaccination.

You can find who represents you at: https://contactingcongress.org

Calls are more effective than emails, and only take a few minutes.

Sample script:

“Hi, my name is ____ and I am a constituent. I am calling to ask Senator (or Representative) ______ to restore people’s right to choose whether to get the high-risk COVID vaccines in order to keep working.

COVID vaccines are causing numerous serious side effects, and it is unethical to require anyone to get a vaccine that may injure or kill them in order to keep their job.

To date, COVID vaccines have cause over 550,000 adverse reactions and over 6,000 deaths. These vaccines have reportedly caused more injury and death than all other vaccines combined.

Vaccine mandates are contrary to the concept of informed consent for medical procedures.

I urge _______ to push back against this recent executive order and support legislation to allow people to continue making a living without sacrificing their right to choose what medical procedures to take.”

Be sure to explain why this issue is important to you. You may wish to use a couple of the talking points below. Don’t copy all of them – just use them as ideas to help structure your own message.

TALKING POINTS for calls and emails:

1)     Share why this is personal to you. Do you have a religious belief that objects to vaccination or you are worried about the side effects of COVID injections? Are you simply against government mandates that affect your bodily autonomy?

2)     One of the most basic human rights is that of bodily autonomy, as recognized by the Nuremburg Code. Ethical medicine requires prior, completely voluntary and fully informed consent.

3)     Vaccine package inserts warn of the risk of brain damage, life-threatening allergy, and death and no one knows in advance whom a vaccine will harm. Each of us may respond differently as we have different medical histories, genes, epigenetics, and microbiomes.

4)     COVID-19 vaccines have not been approved. The FDA has only fully approved Pfizer’s new vaccine called Comirnaty, but that vaccine is not currently available in the U.S. The only Pfizer shot available is called BNT162b2 and it remains under emergency use authorization.

Important Exemption Information

Important Information Regarding Exemptions from COVID Injection Mandates

Important Information Regarding Exemptions from COVID Injection Mandates

We here at the Weston A. Price Foundation would like to share our research with you on the options for exemptions from Covid-19 injection mandates. We are not giving legal or medical advice. This is for informational and educational purposes only.

The Healthy American—https://thehealthyamerican.org—is a great resource that provides information on religious exemptions. The founders are available for hire to assist in understanding religious exemptions.

Here are a few things we learned from their website and other sources:

The first thing you will need to decide is whether you are going to file for a medical or religious exemption. Medical exemptions will generally require a specific medical condition and a doctor’s approval. It can be difficult to find a doctor who will write one.

Religious exemptions are based on your sincerely held religious beliefs. Federal law, specifically Title VII of the U.S. Civil Rights Act, prohibits discrimination based on religion. Despite this, a few states currently do not recognize religious exemptions for students: California, Connecticut, New York, Maine and Mississippi.

The law states that you only have to express your sincerely held religious belief. You do not need to prove you attend a church, temple or mosque, so long as you can clearly explain why the injections violate your sincerely held religious beliefs. You need to say why you cannot participate in these actions and also what accommodation you are seeking. For example, do you wish to work from home? Do you want to continue your job as is? Employers are required to provide the requested accommodation unless there is an undue hardship (i.e. more than a minimal burden) on the employer.

If your employer or school has a required form, then you should use it; if not, submit your own letter in writing to the employer or school. Remember that your views on science, medicine, or politics, are not relevant, nor your interpretation of the law. Your focus should remain entirely on your sincerely held religious beliefs. If your request is rejected, you can appeal it.

Unfortunately, if you live in a dorm or a nursing home it is considered congregate living and your exemption may be denied.

If your employer or school refuses to recognize your exemption, you may wish to consult an attorney about the consequences of resigning as opposed to being fired or expelled. Resigning may reduce the legal options available to you.

With any issue of your legal rights, it is important to get everything in writing. Be sure to keep detailed records of everything that happens.

Speak Up for Employees’ Rights in Texas

September 1, 2021 by midlandtx Leave a Comment

In a recent executive order, Governor Abbott said that “no governmental entity can compel any individual to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.” The Governor also expanded the call for the special session to include legislation regarding whether state or local governmental entities can mandate COVID-19 shots and “if so, what exemptions should apply to such mandate.”

Unfortunately, while taking these excellent steps with respect to government mandates on COVID-19 injections, the Governor did not include protections for individuals against employer mandates.  An Abbott spokesperson was reported saying that “private businesses don’t need government running their business.”

That is certainly true when it comes to business issues generally – but an employee’s right to refuse vaccination is a civil rights issue.  Several Texas legislators have recognized that and filed bills to prohibit discrimination by employees based on COVID-19 vaccination statis.

But even though these bills have been filed, they cannot become law unless Governor Abbott adds them to the call for a special session.

With the current special session ending in just a few days, that’s not going to happen in this round.  But we know that this isn’t the last special session of the year – and now is the time to start educating the Governor about why addressing employer mandates is so important.

TAKE ACTION

Contact Governor Abbott and urge him to add protections for employees from COVID vaccine mandates.

Call (512) 463-2000 from 8 am to 5 pm or send the Governor a message here:  https://gov.texas.gov/contact

Sample script for email or calls is below.  Personalize it by adding your own sentences and changing the wording – personal letters are far more effective than form letters!

Please keep your call short and be nice to the staff that you speak with.

“My name is ____ and I live in (town).  First, I want to thank Governor Abbott for issuing the executive order to stop government entities from mandating COVID-19 vaccinations.

I am calling (or writing) to urge him to recognize that employer mandates also need to be addressed.

In practical terms, many people can’t afford to lose their jobs.  They have to pay their rent, buy groceries, and care for their families.  If employers are allowed to mandate COVID-19 vaccination, many people will be forced to take the shot against their will.  Many of these individuals suffered bad reactions with a first dose or have already recovered from the disease and thus have natural immunity.

People should not be forced to take injections that carry a risk of injury in order to keep their jobs or attend school.

I urge Governor Abbott to protect Texans’ right to work and to an education, and add protections against COVID vaccine mandates to the call for the next special session.”

Talking Points:

Keep your call or email short!  Pick the 2 or 3 of these talking points – or none of them — that are most important to you, and be sure to explain why this issue matters to you personally.

  1. Share why this is personal to you.  Do you or a family member have a history of vaccine reactions?  Are you at risk for autoimmune conditions or other potential side effects of the COVID-19 shot?  Has your employer expressed their intention to require you to get the shot?
  1. One of the most basic human rights is that of bodily autonomy, as recognized by the Nuremburg Code.  Ethical medicine requires prior, completely voluntary and fully informed consent.
  1. Vaccines are medical procedures that carry risk of serious injury.  The U.S. Supreme Court recognizes vaccines to be “unavoidably unsafe” and to cause injury and death in some recipients.  The U.S. Government has paid out $4.4 billion to the victims of vaccine injury.  https://www.cdc.gov/vaccinesafety/ensuringsafety/monitoring/vaers/
  1. COVID-19 vaccine manufacturers and providers are shielded from liability through the Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness Act, or PREP Act.
  1. As of August 13th, there have already been 464,769 adverse events and 6,018 deaths connected to COVID vaccines and reported in the U.S. to the Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System.
